Offered here is a “diamond in the rough” worktable circa early 1900’s, made by the factory in Fayetteville, N. Y. of Leopold and John George Stickley, brothers of Gustav Stickley. It is of the Mission Oak in style and material and can be found in the reprint catalogue, “The Work of L.& J.G. Stickley, Fayetteville, New York” on page 7 where it is listed and described as, “597 Table” with measurements of 29” high and top of 28” x 40”, with a blind drawer. This table is missing the front face of the drawer and the top needs to be repaired where it has separated along with some separation in the legs. It is signed with the burned in signature on the inside of the drawer, “The Work of L. & J. G. Stickley”. This table was most likely used in an office environment as it has a small brass tag which reads, “N.E..T. & T. Co” which probably would have been New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. Repairs for this table will require the perfect piece of quarter sawn oak for the drawer and discriminating expertise to restore it properly in order to retain it proper value. Thus, it is presented in its “as found” condition to leave up to the new owner the options for restoration.
